84 RADES Purchases Sensis System Interface UnitsDEWITT, NY - October 14, 2000 - The 84 Radar Evaluation Squadron (RADES)
of Hill AFB, Utah has contracted Sensis to adapt its System Interface Unit (SIU)
for all FAA/ DoD radars. The SIU is a highly modular data format and protocol
converter. For this application, the SIU will be performing serial to Ethernet
conversion replacing an obsolete PC based interface card. The SIU units
will improve performance monitoring and system maintainability functions
while providing a service life extension. A sampling of the required radar
data formats include: TPS-75, ATS-30, ARSR-4, FPS-117 (Mar 1,3,4,5,6),
ARSR-3, ATS, CD-1, CD-2, CD2C, DTE2, RBD, SRR (FPS-124), STRAP 2D/3D, ASR-11
(DOD), ASR-11 (FAA), ASR-9, ASR-9 (BCN Ext).
