Signal Processor Enhancement (SPE-3000)

The Sensis Signal Processor Enhancement (SPE-3000) is a COTS S-band receiver/exciter and signal processor replacement for the Watchman ATC radar. Further, it has a lower purchase cost than other replacement alternatives. It is designed to interface with the existing primary radar at S-band and digital secondary radar systems to produce digital reports from aircraft returns within the coverage region. In a single cabinet, the SPE-3000 replaces the S-Band receiver, S-Band up-converter, waveform generator, signal processor, STALO and Correlation and Communications Processor (Plessex).

The SPE-3000 is adaptable to various SSR, MSSR, Mode-S and super Mode-S transponders, and is compliant with EUROCONTROL data communication standards. It also provides a projected signal to clutter improvement of up to 5-7 dB.

Through the use of a COTS architecture, the SPE-3000 offers the operator a life extension program that provides for continued low cost operation for the next 15 years, or more.
