Sensis Corporation Air Defense Systems Achieves Capability Maturity Model Integration® Maturity Level 3 Rating
Demonstrates Strength of Sensis ADS Systems and Software Engineering’s
Operational Effectiveness and Employee Productivity
EAST SYRACUSE, NY – June 26, 2006 – Sensis Corporation announced that its Air Defense Systems (ADS) division has achieved the Software Engineering Institute’s (SEI) Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) Maturity Level 3 rating for its systems engineering and software engineering activities. CMMI ratings are recognized as a standard rating system for measuring a company’s maturity in project management and engineering practices and its ability to link practices to business objectives. Attaining CMMI Level 3 rating advances Sensis objectives to continuously improve operational effectiveness and employee productivity.
“Sensis ADS’ CMMI Level 3 rating further demonstrates the organization’s commitment to providing our customers with distinctively elegant, innovative technical solutions,” said Jud Gostin, CEO, Sensis Corporation.
CMMI is a process improvement approach that provides organizations with the essential elements of effective processes. CMMI was developed by members of industry and government and the SEI, a federally funded research and development center sponsored by the U.S. Department of Defense and operated by Carnegie Mellon University. The SEI recognizes five maturity levels, ranging from the initial level when a program is in its unpredictable stage to the optimizing level when a program is completely controlled, defined, and aligned with a company’s objectives. A CMMI Level 3 rating recognizes that Sensis Air Defense Systems has a process that is characterized, defined, and proactive.
ProcessWorks, Inc., an independent SEI-authorized appraisal firm based in Rockville, MD, led a comprehensive evaluation of the Sensis ADS division. The appraisal was conducted according to the Standard CMMI Appraisal Method for Process Improvement (SCAMPIsm) method.
