Sensis Receives 2009 Cogswell Award for Security ExcellenceProcesses and Procedures EAST SYRACUSE, NY – June 23, 2009 – Sensis Corporation was selected by the Defense Security Service (DSS) to receive the 2009 James S. Cogswell Outstanding Industry Security Achievement Award. The Cogswell Award honors defense contractors that have proven superior industrial security processes and procedures for handling U.S. government classified information. Of the nearly 12,000 cleared contractor facilities, less than one percent is annually selected to receive the award. A cleared contractor facility is approved to work on military projects for the U.S. government by DSS. “Sensis takes the security of its customer’s information very seriously and we expect nothing but perfection from our staff as we work diligently to safeguard our customers and our war fighters,” said Jud Gostin, president and chief executive officer of Sensis. “This award reflects the entire organization’s dedication to protecting our customer’s sensitive information all day, every day.” The Cogswell Award was established in 1966 and is named in honor of the late Air Force Col. James S. Cogswell, the first chief of industrial security within the Department of Defense. The criteria for the award focuses on the principles of industrial security excellence, which include establishing and maintaining a security program that goes well beyond the basic National Industrial Security Program requirements and providing leadership to other cleared facilities to set high standards for security. Sensis embraces a proactive approach to educating and training its employees about industrial security, along with establishing and maintaining security measures that exceed government criteria. Sensis is a participant in the National Classification Management Society and Central New York Counter Intelligence Working Group. |
