Sensis Names Two Engineers as Senior FellowsEAST SYRACUSE, NY – March 1, 2010 – Jenifer Herman and David Sargrad were selected to become Sensis Corporation Senior Fellows, an elite group of Sensis engineers that demonstrate preeminence in their specialty, sustained technical contributions and leadership.
“Our Senior Fellows provide support to our strategic planning, mentor our engineering staff and encourage innovation at all levels of the company,” said Jud Gostin, president and chief executive officer of Sensis Corporation. “Jenifer and David demonstrate on a daily basis the technical excellence and leadership qualities that are inherent in our Senior Fellows.”
Herman was recognized for her leadership in software and system engineering, in particular the Airport Surface Detection Equipment, Model X (ASDE-X) program, an advanced runway safety system that will be deployed to 35 U.S. airports through the FAA’s ASDE-X program. She has played a significant role in the evolution of the ASDE-X system and software architecture and the integration of numerous enhancements.
Sargrad was recognized for his systems and software architecture leadership on a number of core Sensis technologies, including surface and wide area surveillance, the multi-sensor data fusion processor, ASDE-X and Runway Status Lights (RWSL), a system of red lights embedded in the pavement of runways that automatically warn pilots if it is unsafe to cross or enter a runway and “take-off hold lights” that indicate if a runway is unsafe for departure. Additionally, he was a leader in the creation of Sensis Aerobahn, an airport surface management and decision support tool that is being used by numerous airlines, airport operators and air navigation service providers. |
